"Seena" was formed by Julia Maher and Netto Pio. Two composers and songwriters who had previously worked together for two years performing up and down the Uk and in London as the duo  " Bossa Uk ".
After completing a great number of original songs combining their different styles and cultures they decided to expand and grow and incorporate a larger collective of musicians.
"Seena" in Portuguese means (faith, destiny or something which you feel you have to do ) so the name "Seena" seemed natural as a name for the new departure and creative journey that had started to develop. In October, 2009 the launch of Seena took place in London and writers Julia Maher and Netto Pio were joined on stage by musicians performing traditional Brazilian percussion instruments as well as a brass section, Piano, Double bass and Flute.
Performing the debut album "Calling me home" to great reviews "Seena" will be releasing the album through independent record label "MUSICMISSIONRECORDS" in January 2010.
